Report from the Field: A Repost from the Yahoo PFEr Board

The Yahoo Boards are usually just a bunch of people yelling at each other.."You be quiet...No, you be quiet." But, every now and then, interesting posts can surface in the chaos.

Here is an insightful post from Killer Klowns (a Pfizer sales representative).

Hello folks! It's been a long time since I've thrown my 2 cents of insight into the ring. You can't believe how busy Pfizer is keeping us folks in the field force!!! Honestly, now more than ever; seems like I never sleep!

First of all, let me just say that things at PFE are going BEAUTIFULLY!!! And there's much more to come. Lipitor is still growing at rates beyond what any of us expected. Celebrex had a first week of sales that surpassed even Lipitor's! (which, at the time, was the most successful drug launch in history). Physicians who I'm speaking to are telling me they've NEVER seen anything as exciting as Celebrex - this is going to be bigger than Viagra... MUCH bigger. Celebrex could capture up to 20% of the $7 BILLION NSAID market within 12 months according to every pain specialist I've spoken to.

Management has told us that they're expecting better than 20% earnings growth every year for the next decade (20% at a MINIMUM average rate... Some years may be much better than 20%).

Please keep in mind that although I work for PFE, I'm not one of these people who blindly hail PFE always and forever. Some of you may remember that last summer I said I thought PFE had gotten ahead of itself...

I haven't reviewed all the previous posts here, so I wont bore you with all the pipeline products which I'm sure you've all been talking about, and which are flying through the approval process... Let's just say that working for PFE right now is like having 2 jobs. Selling our current products, and learning a plethora of new products which we'll be selling within the upcoming months.

Bill Steere has told us that every cent of his 401K is in PFE stock. That's gotta make you feel good... (Of course, it's a drop in the bucket considering all his stock options...)

Speaking of stock options, every employee has been granted more stock options this year. These things are unbelievable motivators. Every day that we salespeople dash into the field, we feel like we're declaring war on Merck, BMY, and all the other competitors out there. And we've all got that adrenalin rush that you feel when you know you're winning the battle. The success we're all having out here is remarkably infectious and contagious. Believe me - great things are happening out here every day in your corporation!!!
