I'm not one for special pleading, like Kumar, that the real earnings were about 37 or 38 when you remove the "distortion" caused by the tax issue. The tax credits were part of the calculation of the cost of the DEC acquisition and it is rubbish to claim that it was an extrinsic factor.

Victor, I was going to make the same point! To claim that the benefit of the lower tax rate isn't really income is absurd. The same people who were bringing up all of the negatives of the DEC merger now don't want to acknowledge the benefits. The lower tax rate was discussed on this thread long ago. People who didn't use it in their estimates were asleep (like ol' pair o' dimes).
