What I can glean from the elusive press on the global meltdown tells me that Brazil is in deep doodoo and has no easy way out. They're looking at either default or hyperinflation. You'd never know it by the behavior of our market or press reports. I get the feeling that Brazil is about to drag Latin America down the rathole Asian style. Mexico (correct me if I'm wrong) is fairly stable at this point, but is not immune by any means. Latin flu would certainly spark another round of devaluations in Asia, and it looks like Europe is most vulnerable as the first world casualty, especially Germany.

Auric, let me know if you feel that I am convoluting the nature of this thread, and I will try to find a new home for prognosticating global meltdown. I don't want to turn this contest into something unwanted, but I feel that at this point, a crisis on the scale of last August might be the only way we get the retracement. Blame it on Hiram...I think he got me going.
