Valuation Problems

The S and P 500 currently stands at 24.85xs projected 1999 earnings. That is 1279.94 / $51.50. My allocation is at 65% equities and 35% cash and bonds. I am speculating that I will be buying stocks more cheaply in short order at a lower multiple on the S and P 500. I am not bearish; just call me an opportunist.

Happy Anniversary Mr. Brinker!

Let me see if I understand your point:

Low put-call ratio. Economic collapse in Brazil. Very low level of cash in mutual funds. High sentiment readings. Very high valuation of stocks in general. Mania in internet stocks.

You're not very bullish today, are you? <g>

Best wishes,

I2
