Since this is the end of January, it is a good time to summarize the performance of the group since 10/9/98 when the group started its upward trend. For the period, the group is up 153 percent while the SOX-X was up 109 percent. All 41 of the stocks in the group have made gains. UTEK occupies last place in the table with a gain of 12 percent. ASYT has the top spot at 330 percent. 11 of the stocks are up over 200 percent and all but 9 stocks are up over 100 percent. With the group sum closing at 1033 this week, the group is up 36 percent from its 1997 low on 4/25/97. The group sum would have to increase 41 percent from this Friday's close to reach the group high of 1460 set in September 1997.
