CB, no links but simply put SS $ into gov't debt should lower interest rates all others things equal ( ceteras parabus ?) because it would increase the supply of savings. yes there would be reduced gov't spending but I believe money spent by the taxpayer generates more productive economic activity than government redistributing wealth from the productive sector of the economy. I realize gov't serves a vital role but as Thomas Jefferson said the gov't that governs least governs best. Mike
