What is nice about downloading broker transactions is that you don't have to take all or nothing. You can ignore a transaction that you already entered manually. It's nice for dividends and such. The only real glitch I noticed (and this may be waterhouse's fault) was when selling covered calls. You are essentially opening a short position, and they specify a security name like "Bill Dwyer Feb 20 (S)". So far, so good. But when the option expires (or is exercised by the buyer), instead of sending down a buy to close out the short position, they send down a sell (for zero dollars in the expiration case) of "Bill Dwyer Feb 20". Note the missing (S)? This causes you to end up with two different positions :( I ended up having to delete the bogus crap they sent down and enter buys myself. The other stuff all works great, though.
