Amazon.com just sold $1.25 billion of convertible bonds just like Cymer did, except 10x as much.

I wonder if AMZN shareholders know the potential this has to crunch the price of their stock as the Bond-holders short the stock to protect their conversion value, just like they did with Cymer. It will be interesting what $1.25 billion of AMZN sold short will do to the price. Maybe Fleckenstein will float rumours of Amazon selling light bulbs.

Zeev, there is technical resistance for cymi at 30-32 but if the market perceives the sector rebound has resumed, this resistance will be blown away. Let's see if the book to bill for the semi equipment makers exceed one the next report. What time frame do you have for cymi hitting the low 40's?

OT: I love thumbing thru the Programmers Paradise (PROG)catalog, but I always wonder who buys thru them. Anytime I want something in computer hardware or software, I go online to www.uvision.com and get a price comparison. The low price is usually 20% or so below PPs. Their stock is heading up sharply though, so sombody must think they're doing ok.
