Now if you want ME to do it YOUR way when my weights are different, THEN we can disagree. Are we fighting yet? <GG>

Well written post Spots.

IMO the context of the Image discussion has been Clarence's machine. I believe Clarence benefits from our discussion. He had indicated in previous posts a desire to experiment with the KOT drive and Drive Images so I have tried to address possible implementation strategies.

I'd've inferred it, but I'm old fashioned <GG>

I thought about that one after it was too late.:(

You are reluctant to tackle what I do (I gather, anyhow) because you would need to learn a lot and are not sure of the cost of learning nor whether the result would be satisfactory if you did.

Partially a time issue for me. I jockey between 4 and six hours of sleep. I thought I needed eight. I believe both methodologies should be implemented.

I believe I need both strategies for my next build. I do not like the idea of dividing my primary OS into pieces. I want one big C drive. It is easier to backup. ( I will still have the second physical drive ). Calls to second partitions by the OS have a way of getting out of hand.

I have had concerns about a large C drive. My current thinking is apps on a second partition are not going to keep the OS any cleaner. If I install the apps on a second partition the OS still suffers the same 'registry bloat'. Data files and images are good candidates for additional partitions but I am skeptical about the need for a small OS partition.

In order to build a large C drive I need both strategies. I do not want to look back. Hopefully I will never have to go back to square one. This means I have to learn how to keep a clean machine/OS.

That means I will have to get a better understanding how things work. However I can proceed even with limited understanding as I have my ace in the hole.

The goal is to build..learn..go back a step when I screw up and continue the build.
