I dont know if its true, I have seen that free republic website before and it appears to be a front for the Rutherford institute or something.... anyway thats not really an issue for me but the lack of information in the article makes it look a little like spin.

Anyway you and others have come up with surveys that say things like "80% in favor of school prayer". I only know what I see around me, which disputes those findings, as well as these "findings" if they are that - that 53% of women are pro-life. I do believe 53% of women may be against PBAs (or more than 53% actually), so as always it depends on wording with these polls. Again, with absolutely no information on the free republic website there is no way to know.

As you know the republican gov candidate in Ca ran on a pro-life platform and you saw what happened to him.

I would support legislation on abortion that was based on a popular vote actually - I am so sure that the pro-life position would lose - especially if a vote was held in the near term.
