Sam, the first revision of the Pentium III, actually available now, doesn't have Rambus interface capability. That comes with the Camino chipset, an Intel product, that's not out yet. What I meant is that, if the privacy fanatics* get their way, Intel may end up designing the CPU serial number feature out of the Pentium III to sate these guys. That effort, or a remarketing decision for PIII, or who knows what else, could divert resources at Intel.

* Note, I require privacy like anyone else. There are, however, certain "factions" in the world that will do anything they can, whenever Intel leaves a crack of the door open, to make life miserable for them.
