" Hey memflyken2, what kind of a name is that anyway ? You brought me back from bozoland, but only for a while. I'm back on my way there.

"My belief in YHOO is not because of the stock price. Its the belief inthe company. It has nothing to do with mundane things like making money out of trading stocks. Have you ever believed in the something ? Have you seen miracles unfold ? Like people walking on the moon. What price was that step ? What potential ? What have we achieved since 1969 ? Where did they make money then or since then"

I like my e-mail name, actually quite simple: the MEMphis FLYer is a weekly newspaper like Seattle Weekly, SF Bay Guardian, Village Voice, whatever, and yes, I am KEN. It's 2 because aol completely screwed up my initial membership; had me owing them many $$$, so we both agreed to start all over again. Full disclosure, hg....

Now as far as your drawing parallels between the phenomenal success of YHOO as a stock and man walking on the moon in 1969. With all due respect, happy girl, I think that's quite a reach... I suspect even a majority of the bulls here would agree...

YHOO has been a phenomenal business success in the sense that it has cornered the prime location in a hot new neighborhood. But there is nothing intrinsically wonderful or even unique about what YHOO does, unless you consider its phenomenal market cap unique (it probably is, actually). As Marion and others have said, there's no there there: no patents, nothing really special, nothing to keep YHOO at the forefront for generations to come. Except hype. And True Believers like yourself.

If enough continue to Believe, there's no doubt in my mind that you folks can keep this tulip blossoming for some time to come. But not forever. Sorry. It's not that we hate YHOO the business, hg; it's just that we keep trying to bring logic to bear on the situation...

Again: please, bulls, refute some of the points Marion and others are making with LOGIC, not with references to how YHOO is the greatest thing since sliced bread, etc. Tell us how they're gonna grow into their market cap; tell us why the interconnection with Softbank isn't a problem; tell us what YHOO has that XCIt, LCOS etc. don't. And most of all, tell us where YHOO's future revs are gonna come from.

Please: we don't hate YHOO; we hate illogic. Please inform us.

"And yet, you cannot deny the potential - can you ?"

Yes, I can, hg, yes I can. No one has yet demonstrated any kind of rational plan of how YHOO is getting from a to b. And no, developing the Antartic market doesn't count, not at least until penguins are on-line...
