Yeah, well, I suppose that if you are going to shut down the entire U.S. Government in the hope that the American people, upon realizing that they really haven't the slightest use for the Federal Government anyway, will rise up in support, then you probably want to have a platform supporting the empowerment of the states; if you want to be at least as coherent as the democrats, that is. But maybe not.

The biggest disconnect between the 2 parts of the republican party is in the social engineering laws to promote lifestyle behavior. The family values crowd (Quayle, Largent etc) promote all kinds of laws specifically designed to condone their ideal lifestyle.

The fiscal conservative less government crowd (Dunn et al) want nothing to do with this kind of legislation.
