HIV- one to keep an eye on --> detailed thoughts --> A. Products - working on cancer, aids, herpes, tuberculosis - no prods of these completed yet TB - just got some funding good Herpes - simplex 1 on mice - encouraging Aids - in phase II in some countries & starting phase II in others (keep an eye on this every 3 months or so. If appears closer to finishing phase II, chk it more often). - Working on subtype C as well as B ('everyone else' worked on B) a good sign - untapped niche - beware the policial risk, delaying entry to markets -->biz.yahoo.com - in my opinion, countries do a dis-service to their people by not allowing safe treatments that can save lives - co should focus on more open minded countries - and ones that can afford the treatment Head & neck cancer - their press release a little confusing as says "will be treated...", but then it mentions some results of treatment - figured it out, but nevertheless could have been written a bit betterbiz.yahoo.com - looks to be starting equivalent of phase 2 and they have some preliminary results - 70% had regression of some kind (doesn't say what % tho - Q's to ask are: how many had complete regression? how many had over 50% regression? a bit early to actually ask those results since they're just entering Ph-2 - 10% had no visible tumor after 2 weeks - promising, but a little ways away (again, chk it every few months) Summary: one to keep an eye on, but rem the time frames of the various phases - these things are not solved/proved conclusive in a few months - just the fact that you must track a patient after treatment for quite a while means it takes a while to present complete results - again, one to watch - thx for pointing it out - their symbol to me indicated aids type work only
