No, Terry, the dictionary told me that. "Rational" is from "ratio," the past participle of "reri," "to think." "Rational" thought is logical, measured, analytical. Emotions are feelings. Emotions and reason may co-exist, but they are different. If I love, my love may be both rational and emotional, but that does not make reason and emotion the same.
