Most people seem to agree that Amazon is a good site which
attracts customers and makes shopping and purchasing easy.
One of its key benefits is the ability to find recommendations,
lists by category, and related merchandise - these are all
fundamental characteristics of book, video and CD purchasing.
As BigTex and others mentioned several times on this thread,
perfume buyers rarely change brands, so the characterics of
the Amazon site that are valuable hold little value in the
field of perfume merchandising, not to mention another
fact many have pointed out: you cannot try new scents on
the Net. Instead, perfume is one of those items, like an ounce of gold, that is well defined, interchangeable, widely available and
subject to price competition ( that is, for well known brands...
new brands and smell-alikes are different products ).

I know Amazon and you, PRFM, are no Amazon <g>
