hink Bill is just talking about the short speculator position, such as traders when he is referring to 3,000 tonnes. I still think that overall the number he is using is 8,000 to 14,000.

Hmmm... I can't tell the difference between a short speculator position or another short position against gold.

As I understood it, the CB's were leasing gold for a 1% annual rate, and then the speculators were selling it on the open market and using the proceeds to fund their other investments (Carry Trades).

Could you amplify on the difference between the two short positions and how they differ??

Regards,

Ron
