Dealt with what is going on in the stem cell research, mostly they dealt with the lifting of the ban on funding. Many callers wanted to know about preserving the umbilical cord also what it would cost. etc interesting. If you want a copy of the talk you can phone NPR and they will mail you one at a small cost.

A surprising tidbit:

I received a fund raising letter from Community Blood Services in Paramus, NJ today. It read:

Special $25 Fundraiser for Valentine's Day.

Your donation will be applied towards the cost of collecting and processing Umbilical Cord Blood which wil be frozen and stored until needed (as a safer, easier to match, less expensive alternative to bone marrow transplants) by a child who is undergoing treatment for cancer.<<
