Howard,
I'm going to head back to my internuts (FHT, NAVR, BNYN and UIHIA) and see if I can't find some new "undervalued ones". See you in a few weeks or so and we'll revisit how GUMM is playing out. See ya around! Best Regards, Mad2

>>I do not like short sellers trying to scare people into selling for a loss.

As an FYI, Datek does not allow shorting of GUMM. (I have a small long position and I can see the labeling). Also, E-Trade says " Short Sales in this security are subject to NASD regulations, UPC 11830. Shares may be difficult to borrow," which would indicate a lack of shares available for shorting. I'd like to know if other brokerages restrict shorting in GUMM. It would make a difference in the stability of the price.

Howard
A followup as I recieved a response from Murray Grossan M.D.

My e-mail to Dr. Grossan is as follows:
Dr. Grossman,
You are quoted as supporting (implied) a product that apparently is just
being produced by the name of ZICAM. You can refer to your reference under
"Medical and Scientific Opinions" at the following web site
zicam.com
Do you recomend this product?
Are you a paid consultant or have a finnancial interest in Gel Tech or Gumm
Tech the companies supporting this?

Dr. Grossan's response:

"In a message dated 1/30/99 7:22:59 PM, you wrote:

thanks for calling this to my attention. I was interviewed and carefully said
it could be good. They are correct in saying that I reviewed the literature.
At this time I know of no clinical studies that prove this is effective, I
just wish it were."

We'll see ya around Howard

Howard,
Follows is the text of a second e-mail I recieved from Murray Grossan M.D. that he has sent to Dr. Hensley. See post 121 for the orignal correspondence with Dr. Grossan.
I wonder if the other individuals realize that their names have been used to support this product? IMO its inappropiate behavior for a company to quote a professional in a supportive context without their permission.

"Dear Dr Hensley,
It has come to my attention that you are using my name, Murray Grossan,
M.D. as an endorser and recommender of your product, Zicam.
a. I have never seen the product
b.I have never used the product
c. I know of no clinical studies that prove its value.

I insist that my name be removed from any literature, writing, electronic
communication, news, Web site or any other information media connecting my
name with your product or company.
At this time, I positively do not recommend use of Zicam. I would never
endorse a product that I am not completely familiar with or have had
experience with.
Murray Grossan, M.D.
Let me know when you have removed my name from your web site and other areas.
my phone is 310 659 1006."
