Renaissance Capital's Pick of the Week

By Renaissance Capital
Last Update: 2:06 PM ET Jan 25, 1999

Regardless of your political
beliefs, it's hard to argue the
business acumen of Ross
Perot. The self-made
billionaire built one of the
most successful IT service
firms in EDS and after selling
out to GM started again. Our
pick of the week -- Perot Systems (PER) -- is his
second IT service firm. While it is considerably
smaller than the first, it is growing faster and has
expanded beyond traditional IT staffing to include consulting and
application development. After two unsuccessful attempts at the
presidency Perot reclaimed the helm of the company and has implemented
a cost control program that has boosted profit margins. While competition
is fierce, this is a solid company with good growth prospects.Click here
