Thank you Bernard. everything you wanted to know about RMBS but were afraid to ask! the lawyer fear is real.the stock goes down and everyone wants to sue. it is better for the co. to cool it on the hype.regarding intc. etc. pushing rmbs in their ads. if GM had an engine that delivered twice the speed with 1/2 the fuel consumption, with no additional cost, and you knew it wouldn't be available till sept. would you buy now or wait? Gm could not sell a presently available car(without drastically reducing prices,as intc will have to do;and is in the process of doing.)so it behooves everybody to sit tight until the last minute. this thread has a tremendous jump on the field. re: royalties: "a lot of a little is little, but a little of a lot, is a lot". when rmbs becomes the standard, that is our strength. thanks to all who reported on the meeting.much obliged. capt rocky

Alan, >>>thanks for posting the CPQ-ALPHA article. This convinces me even more that the
race is on btwn ALPHA-RMBS and Caminio<<<

The only reason Compaq is emphasizing Alpha is because they inherited it when they bought DEC. I don't know of anyone else in the world that has plans to build any servers around Alpha. By contrast, click below to see a list (Intel says partial) of companies that have already announced Xeon based servers. Most are shipping now. My point is that Alpha is a Nop.

BTW, with all due respect, it's Camino.
