IF Cymer show a small loss or even a breakeven after what is projected for this Q, and the CC is extremely positive, IF words like 40-50% sequential growth are used

I sure hope that people are not buying into CYMI in the hope that there will be any major, positive, surprises with the past quarters results. One only has to look at what the other semi-equip vendors have reported, so far, to understand that this isn't going to happen. Regarding how the cc will go, I very, very seriously doubt you will see management engaging in any sort of irrational or rational exuberance. They have already learned the lesson and paid the price for making forward projections that can come back to haunt them. Instead, I expect that they will be very conservative about the future, while giving hints about how excited they are at their prospects, but, this will take reading between the lines.

All that said, I'm still very positive about the stock. I've owned it for nearly two years and added a great deal when it got down towards 10, so I'm certainly hoping for bigger and better things.

One last point, a number of folks have talked about Komatsu and its 10 "test" or whatever installs. If you have worked with or for Japanese companies(as I have for years) I don't think that there is any way to know what is really going on between K and Canon or Nikon.

You can be sure that both C and N would like to have Komatsu as a supplier and probably as a primary supplier(just because they are Japanese). You can also assume that they would help Komatsu in any way they can. Consequently, there is no way to know what the 10 units that K has out really means... They could truly be the first step to K becoming a player or they could be nothing more than a favor that C & N have done for K. We will only know if K begins to get large numbers of orders and reports real revenue from these products. Western eyes never really see what's behind the Kimono...

Quarter Ending 6/30/97 9/30/97 12/31/97 3/31/98 6/30/98 9/30/98
Revenue (mill) 50.1 57.5 59.1 49.7 53.0 44.4
Net Income (mill)7.4 7.0 7.2 2.7 1.7 1.5
Net Profit Margin 14.8% 12.3% 12.1% 5.4% 3.2% 3.3%

Same reason why CYMI has doubled after posting above results.
Check out RMBS Net profit margin (they are fabless) they equal
18%+ now and will surpass 40% NET in '00 or '01.....

Not trying to argue, but if any stocks are fully priced,
it is the semi equip's-- I do follow AMAT and understand
the cyclicality of the business-- this is a false start IMO...

Craig, I agree with you on the then current price for RMBS (and sold, prematurely as usual at $97), but long term (2002-2003) I can easily see RMBS earning anywhere from $5 to $10 per share, I cannot see that for CYMI and growing at 100% per year, which with some "exuberance" could get their price into the $200 per share by then.
