Shtirlitz, I agree with your point on not assigning much value to the IPO, but it is hardly "all BS from Yahoo." Jonas has said, twice, publically, that it is going to happen. In the last cc, the modifier he used was "imminent." If you believe that IDT is only a long distance company, you are grossly misinformed about what they do. They have their fingers in lots of pies, possibly too many (I for one did not like the news that they are going to be selling switches that compete with Nortel and Cisco, even if they are selling for one-sixth the price; this is what Jonas said during the cc).

IDT has got religion, big time, regarding the Net and e-commerce. Click2Talk is a killer app. Spinning off the Net division is tres smart: there's too much confusion on the Street about how to evaluate IDT--no one can quite make up their mind on whether it's a telecom, an Internet, or something in between. That, in my opinion, is the principal reason behind the lagging valuation. Spinning it off is going to help define this company in a way that the Street can understand.

I *hope* Jonas is as serious about enhancing shareholder value as he says he is. It is certainly worth the risk at these prices, any way you slice it.
