Ok, my vague impression probably had some truth in it. Good,
doesn't happen that often <g>.

I always take Anand with a grain or two of salt, which is not
at all to say there's anything wrong with what he does, but
at that age it is highly likely that enthusiasm overcomes some
part of judgement. For example, I strongly suspect his
CAS2 vs CAS3 tests weren't valid (if they were, you'd
conclude CAS3 was marginally faster). I suspect he ran
a test that rarely, if ever, got out of L2 cache which,
if true, would be irrelevant to the relative performance
of memory. Anyhow, I couldn't tell from his description
if the test was valid or not.

Nevertheless, a valuable place to get input.
