Eminence grise,

I have no problem "pinning" FT down. He is an adult man who thinks for himself. He does not retreat into belonging to a collective. He does not subscribe to the bleak belief that "Might makes right." He'd rather stand on his own two feet and take responsibility.

GrayBob:

As America is really nothing more than individuals from all over the world, someday the entire world will recognize the Declaration of Independence and all the world will be "America".

Actually, this planet is rapidly evolving into "Planet America" right now.

LOL

Graystone, one quick correction:

It is common usage but very sloppy to refer to people living in the United States as the only "Americans." Everyone living on the American continents is American, as my Canadian and Mexican friends have observed forcefully.

Bergbrain
or
Collective rights

It is rare to see a parasitical thinker claim to be rational. The contention that we are born with some type of rights is ridiculous. Thinking we should have some basic rights is something many people do, but even the simplest people realize a newborn is helpless, without shelter and food all newborns die, this is not simplistic Bergbrain theory, this is the world we live in. It is so clear, even the animals know they have no rights.

Parasitical thinkers thrive because society has a fabric. How long would boB last in Iran. How long would Bergbrain have lasted if his mother had simply put him out in the alley. When push comes to shove, the collective is the fabric we depend on, well those of us who are rational do.
