Not Parrot-Lemmings. Merely the misguided. Who allow themselves to be guided too much instead of getting a map and trying to find their own way through the shifting sands. ;-)

You are drifting into absurdity. I agree with the founding fathers who stated certain rights to be self-evident and they listed some but said plainly that was not an all inclusive list. You seem to run out of real points to make and degenerate into making very false statements and then pat yourself on the back for your cleverness. You are even generating a fan club, it seems.

Rights are only meaningful with respect to other individuals when one lives in a group. If one did not live in a society, if one lived alone, if a man WAS an island, we wouldn't be discussing rights- they would be meaningless. It is because we live collectively that we need rights in the first place. not that I think collectivity is the be all end all- you know I don't. But there probably is a happy balance between the individual as an individual and the individual as part of a group- but damn if I know where that happy balance is.

And as an aside I am thoroughly annoyed- I step away for an hour and find 51 new posts. That is EXCESSIVE people. I can't keep up.
