Ok Laszlo lets look at these quickly

lets goto the first stock ABTX

biz.yahoo.com

ABTX is a vertically integrated agricultural seed company specializing in developing, breeding, processing, packaging and
distributing varieties of forage and cool season turfgrass seeds

For the three months ended 9/30/98, net sales rose from $40.5 million to $89.6 million

Hmm looks like this company brings in a potential 350 million dollars in revenues a year why the pop I have no clue and I am not going crazy to find out why either..

Net income applicable to Common fell 56% to $333 thousand.

again this is only for 3 month period plus if you look charges where taken out for acquisitions in that time period as well ..

Next Stock

ASPT

biz.yahoo.com

ASPT provides automatic call distributer systems and software, computer-telephony integration application software,
interactive voice response systems, web response systems, management info. and reporting tools, and planning and forecasting
packages.

For the nine months ended 9/98, revenues rose 33% to $377.5 million.

Hmm looks like this company will do close to 500 million dollars this year in business

Net loss was $28.2 million vs. an income of $30.8 million.

ok why the net loss hmm lets see

Results reflect higher maintenance revenues and new system sales, offset by a $68.2 million purchased tech.
charge.

hmm lets see 68.2 million minus 28.2 million equals they would of had a 40 million dollar profit for the first 9 months if they did not need the charge to purchase Tech whatever that is like I said I am just cruising through these . Thats a 25% increase in bottom line I suggest you read a little furthur into these my friend . Does this Purchase of TECH increase top line and bottom line in the future I bet it does.. If they also did not take that charge it would of brought in .78 cents a share profit .. So if you take that upgrade charge out of the picture the stock is trading with in reason.

NBTY

NBTY manufactures and markets over 900 nutritional supplements, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs, sold
through NBTY's Vitamin World stores, NBTY mail order and retailers and wholesalers throughout the U.S. and U.K

For the fiscal year ended 9/98, net sales rose 61% to $572.1 million.

If they continue this growth could be 800 million in revenues next year..

Net income rose 33% to $38.8 million.

Revenues reflect
acquisitions, higher same-store sales and a greater store count. Earnings lagged from increased S/G/A and debt related to
acquisitions.

with all this they still grew pretty good IMHO
and if you look they have a over 3 dollar book value and make money and only trade 10 times EPS

I suggest you look at the revenues these companies are pumping out through sales and look even deeper to why there bottom lines and profits might be weaker because they are growing there companies.

Now lets look at WOOD

This is last years Filing

Madera International specializes in the harvesting and exportation of timber products from South America to lumber distributors
throughout the U.S.. The company owns timber property in Brazil. For the fiscal year ended 3/31/98, revenues totalled $4.5
million, up from $1.9 million. Net income totalled $1.1 million vs. a loss of $118 thousand

This is there Latest Filing

The Company's
operations for the three months ended September 30, 1998 utilized cash resources for continuing to build its inventory, due to
the seasonality of the business, no sales were made during this period, however, sales and deliveries will begin again in the next
quarter. Profit for the six months ended September 30, 1998 is $28,801 after absorbing losses from the season of $186,000.

Can you tell me why WOOD deserves a 200 million to almost 500 million dollar market cap by December 31, 1999. Land sales are one time earnings just as above with the other compaines took 1 time charges to acquire differnt companies to grow same princibles IMHO..

I have no clue what 3rd quarter earnings are gonna be on WOOD but I will say they will be alot better than last quarters .

Again this is just a quick look see at these companies

David I hope this helps

Thanks, Laszlo, for providing these companies as proof that WOOD can go to MUCH higher share prices.

In an earlier post, Mah mentioned CMOZ. Well, I went long with CMOZ (then MISM) when it was at .12. Bought some more at .25. My average share price is under .22. It began last week around .40. It hit $5.00 in the course of the week--and they don't even have a web site yet! (I sold 1/6 of my position at 4; still way long, believing it's only just getting started.)

But this post is not about CMOZ. It's about the UNPREDICTABILITY OF INTERNET STOCKS. *Anything* can happen. Lasz, you supplied some great examples; there are countless others. I now own 30 Internet stocks just because I know at LEAST 1/3 of them will pop, and pop BIG when they do! And I'm buying into more companies every week.

Why they pop is often (always?!) a mystery, but this is for sure: The Internet is in its infancy. Computers are getting faster. Modems are getting faster. Lines are getting faster. And as computers get faster, they are also getting CHEAPER. All of this equals: More people online worldwide, growing in number every day, all more rapidly accessing tons of sites with virtually no waiting. As MILLIONS make their way through Madera's site, many will buy. And they will tell their friends. And they'll all continue to buy (repeat customers)--reminds me, does everyone remember the day after last Thanksgiving? Internet stocks went through the ROOF, many of them 10x up, WHEN IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT 1998'S CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WAS GOING TO BE DONE IN A BIG WAY ON THE INTERNET. Of course, this tendency will only grow.

So I have said I believe WOOD can go to $5 by 8/31/99. WHY THE HECK NOT? Anything can happen in this arena, AND IT DOES! EVERY DAY!

Lastly, to Prole: I too feel David/TOP brings up good questions. If we all agreed on everything, this thread would just be a bunch of back thumpers and we'd be forced to learn nothing new. Still, I also agree very much with you that he has a hidden agenda. I find it INSULTING that he would buy 100 shares just to assuage us! "WOW! He spent 15 bucks--he's now one of us.!" Ridiculous. Buy or don't buy; go long or short; but don't be like a derelict hanging out in a shopping mall annoying people. I certainly welcome his contributions; I just also wish he'd come clean, as we are all adults and none of us believe that he is here to save us from those big bad companies out there. If I lose my investment here (which I won't), it's no one's fault but my own.

30,000 shares long AND HOLDING.
Jeff
