Did you fill up in the same states and in the same gas stations on the way down and the way up? Gas sales taxes vary greatly by state. And gas station prices can vary tremendously even over very short distances.

Here in West Palm Beach Fl, pump prices have dropped very little of late. The price for 87 gas ranges from a buck a gallon to $1.20 depending on the gas station. Taxes here are obviously higher than in Georgia

I live in Georgia and the price hasn't dropped more than a nickel, if that, in the last couple months.
