Mirage is BEAUTIFUL!!! We haven't stayed there, but we snooped through and looked at the pool and goodies. My husband's brother and his wife stayed there one time I believe, and they said it was great. We've only stayed at the Imperial Palace, the Flamingo and the Luxor.

Dose the Mirage cost a Arm & a Leg? I'm planing a trip soon<<<

George,
If you have planned on going to Vegas I am sure you have checked out prices of hotels packages offered. I have found one thing to be sure,.....when the difference between a " lower " rated place and a higher one is only $60.00 or so a night...you go " higher " ....I have made the mistake a couple of times trying to save a little money by going cheaper on the hotel but this is not rewarding when it is all said and done.
A lot depends on what you want. We had our rooms booked through the casino because we were with a friend who frequents the Mirage and gambles heavily. Our rate was $109 a night for the two extra rooms and one was comped. However, I think that most likely you could call and get a room for an average of $140.00 a night from Thurs - Sun. Sun - Thurs is easier of course and cheaper. BUT.....most places are not going to be much cheaper than $85 - 100 a night if booked through reservations so.......in my opinion.......the extra money to stay at a place like the Mirage is WORTH IT.
The rooms are fine....but really..just a room. Nice bathrooms there but...YOU SHOULD NOT USE THEM MUCH IN THE MORNING......Here's why George.... Pay $20.00 a day for use of the spa at the Mirage and you will feel like perhaps you have arrived in Shangrila.(sp?) beautiful facility.....great workout room with gobs of machines and weights...tv's with CNBC on in the morning...a nice woman handing you cold towels as you are on the treadmill etc........
The spa is beautiful.....TV room with fresh fruit...magazines...tv ( cnbc on of course )....newspapers and about 5 guys ready to serve your beckon call. You want a coffee...there it is .....you go into your locker and a nice fluffy robe is there waiting for you....you go into the steambath.....Stanley is coming in with a tray of ice-towels, orange and cranberry juice. Go for a wirlpool or a dry sauna after that and then take a shower......
then.....get ready with every amenity you could ask for right there....just bring your own deodorant and pretty much everything else is there......it is truly a wonderful way to start the day.

Restaurants are all over the map as far as money. One thing I have found in Vegas is that you only need two meals ( said in your best Homer Simpson voice )...BUFFET BREAKFAST....BUFFET DINNER
Go across the street to the Flamingo for a great buffet breakfast and pay $7.95.....strap on a feedbag here George and enjoy....best 8 bucks you ever spent. Dinner buffets are typically $13.95 in Vegas...we never ate at the Mirage buffet but we did have a SUPERB dinner at Kokomos Steak House in the Mirage on Saturday night......10 guys all ate like bandits..the bill came to $645.00 and the LOVELY people at the Mirage picked up the tab as our friend had been giving them quite a bit of action that weekend....what a town! Deon Sanders was sitting at the table next to us as well which was kind of cool.

So....I can not say how wonderful this place is George and I have stayed at the Flamingo and the Imperial Palace as well in the past....I have to say that neither comes even close to the Mirage and the extra money is worth it.......

Enjoy.
