CBS reports this week. I am hopeful but not expecting a breakout quarter in terms of upside surprise. It is the current quarter's earnings that likely will be more decisive.

We need a catalyst to break out from 34-36. Infinity is one potential catalyst but not the most explosive one. There are two others that would be more explosive. One is a deal involving the network. The other is bust out earnings. Such earnings would include the network turning profitable along with record cash flow growth rate for the O&Os and the cable properties.

My expectations are higher for the current quarter because of Karmazin. This first Q of CY 99 is the first full quarter in which he is unshackled from any impediments to doing what he does best: making money.
