I wanted to add that I have been voting Republican since '80, although I took a few years to get around to changing my party affiliation. Also, I spent a good deal of time in September looking up e- mail addresses on Capitol Hill, and sending brief arguments for the impeachment of Clinton to as many Representatives' and Senators' offices as I could get through to. In November, I published a pro- Reagan piece in The Weekly Standard, and I have been attending conservative conferences and publishing in conservative journals, at least from time to time, for years. In fact, Daniel, if you happen to read this, I am one of those conservative intellectuals Sullivan (or was it Weisberg) was talking about, although a relatively small fish in the pond.
