I read somewhere that Golman Sachs was behind keeping gold low, but had started to buy back - the day after reading that article, there was no further buying - price of gold dropped.

The Cdn i believe will stay low, unless:
1) euro gains in importance
2) us $ decreases in importance
3) at some point some countries start to use gold again to back reserves rather than using another currency
