YZ, I have no better way to explain it. You did a great job. If they don't have Dec #s yet, what is the problem? Can't their IBM mainframe handle the deals? <G> And growth has been tremendous, but right now the business pc market stinks. Just look at the IDC and Dataquest industry numbers. PC units were up 15%. Revenues were down. But consumer pc sales were up about 25% in units. Where does that leave business pc sales, the kind that are so important to Dell? Also, workstation sales were down and large server sales were down on a revenue basis. Only pc servers came in up slightly, at 8%. This is a disaster for business sales.

Yes, I expect Dell to greatly outperform the industry numbers in Nov and Dec. But that may not be enough to save their quarter.
