I have a very basic question:

Why doesn't dell offer colored boxes?

I am obviously aware that any diversion from the tried-and-true beige (which is truly, hideously ugly, in this humble designer's opinion)would result in some short-term cost increases. But how hard could it be to ramp up three or four colors?

Imagine getting the following choices for your box:

Cappuccino
Teal
Rust
Loden green
Slate
Classic navy

Is there anyone at all who doubts that sales would explode? *Especially* in light of first-time buyers. Seasoned vets like most SI users probably don't care too much, but I can assure you that youngsters and nontechies find the idea enormously appealing.

Do we have a pipeline directly into Dell mgmt? I think that Dell could move extremely quickly on this, and start a wonderful trend.

Dammit, I want a burnt sienna Dell!

Dell prediction for tomorrow:
9:30 Open +1/2
9:45 +1 1/4
10:00 -1/4
10:30 - 1 3/8
11:00 +1/8
12:00 +1 7/8
1:00 + 2 5/8
1:35 +3
2:00 + 2/1/2
3:00 +2 1/2
4:00 +1 15/16

This is just a rough guess (+- 7 points), and I also have a very nice bridge for sale cheap. It is now safe to make predictions as there will be 350 more posts by close and everyone will forget this one.
( Then its your turn on Tuesday)
Sig

d. Plen: <your list re dell> add to that list, that institutions are waiting in line, whenever there is a dip. My theory is that ever since last Oct 8th, that the institutions have been really grabbing more and more. My concern is that small well meaning investors will be waiting until after this next earnings, thinking that their risk will be less, after they see the actual earnings. However, imo, these very persons should be in now, on margin, and perhaps not make any similar moves AFTER earnings. The time to earn your "nut" is NOW, before even more of the risk is taken out of this company's growth picture. The investor is paid well, when there are unknowns.
