Don't forget, Sim gets paid $13 million dollars Tuesday for his monumental devaluation of his own company. If he had an ounce of decency and manhood, he'd file the same day to buy another 1/2 million shares. And he'd make his Three Stooges file to buy some too. Right now they own squat, which is unbelievably improper.

Mark,

Singapore Straights BT On-line apparently interviewed Sim. Article says: 'While the Latin American and Asian crises may cause Creative Technology's sales to drop up to 15 per cent this quarter, Chairman Sim Wong Hoo has this underlying message for analysts seeking clues on the group's longer-term future: "look beyond the numbers into a new horizon of personal digital entertainment".'

Um, a horizon... as in sunset? The end of a day; darkness...? Bad analogy! And I wouldn't count on analysts to "look beyond the numbers"...

How do we get to the horizon from here? "We're going to leverage on Creative's strengths and will not be threatened by the ongoing concern of sound cards going away," Sim said. "If they do, fine, we can sell speakers."

Or algorithms. More at: business-times.asia1.com.sg

Somewhat foreboding: company officials declined to update their rosy October forcast for the company's full-year, ending in June 99, until after they see how awful this quarter is. I agree with Fred, lots of sellers tomorrow.

Looking further ahead, Sim hopes the company's future lies in digital-based gadgets that can be found in any living room, such as pianos, radios, web cameras, speakers, audio players, and amplifiers among others.

respectfully submitted,
Ben
