thomas and i are now mortal enemies;-) furthermore, sf did not lose the superbowl this year.

i did disagree with part of the pregame. they mentioned this was atl chance to change 33 years of futility. i would argue making it to a superbowl purges the demon. now atl just has to not turn into a sd when they got blown out by sf and turned back into the sub-500 team.

atl can now talk about beating teams in the playoffs, instead of discussing a spoiler role.

here is to next year and may sf and baltimore meet in the superbowl, with sf winning of course.

I am projecting the Broncos to be the first to win three straight superbowls. That should be enough for Elway to call it a career, and to win it by close margin, in the last two minutes of the game, as he has patented during his career, in regular seasons and playoffs. That should also etch Shanahan in the Hall of Fame, in the middle of his head coaching career. Enough said, we'll see.

Those great Hall fo Famer qb's who started pro football in same year (Elway, Kelly, and Marino) have been in the superbowl dozens of times. Only one has any superbowl ring. Amazing!

It's starting to look like the AFC west is the best division... the last three sb champions out of the afc have been from the west.

If Seattle wants to get to the next level, they're going to have to beat denver. sd and oak should be upgrading while i expect the chiefs to tread water this year.

It will be interesting to see who seattle signs/loses. I think moon is gone and they'll use the $5mil freed up to get other player(s).

Seattle just needs a second corner and another safety (and then they have to stay healthy) and they should have the dominant defense in the nfl next year. This year's seahawks was the highest scoring defense of all time, and they kept the seahawks in just about every game, even though it seemed like in most games they were spending about 40 minutes on the field.

FWIW
