Not familiar with the FTC action. I don't think it will go far, what with AMD and various other chip makers in the biz.
I don't think airing INTC business practices makes them look "bad", as long as there is competition. MSFT's problem is, was, and (possibly) will be that they have leveraged their 90% control of OSs to inhibit other companies from developing software, in some ways, without their approval.
