At Montgomery Technology conference, the CFO of Sun Microsystems said the company's sales outlook "has never been better." Mike Lehman added that Sun (SUNW) will grow faster in the second half of the current fiscal year than in the first. The company expanded revenue 16 percent in the first two quarters of fiscal 1999. "We are the only company out there growing earnings and revenue at a meaningful, double-digit rate," Lehman said. He said earnings per share have grown 19 percent in the year's first two quarters. Sun's stock was down 1 to 110 3/4 at midday Monday.
