I plan to hold this one for about 10 - 20 years.... so todays action isn't a big concern to me.

David, it's refreshing to see another long-term holder on this thread. I thought I was the only one for a while. I don't know about 10 to 20 years, but I bought over 2 years ago with the idea of holding at least five years. At the time I expected E*Trade to be bought by Merrill, Prudential, or one of the other full-service brokerage firms. I expected it to happen by now, it hasn't, and I'm very happy. I'm impressed with the long-term moves that E*Trade is making. It reminds me of the kinds of moves that have made Schwab what they are today. I suppose it's no coincidence since some of the senior mgt of E*Trade are from Schwab.

I think 1998 was the breakthrough year for online commerce and for the web in general. I think E*Trade will have a very good couple of years from here. We'll see. I'm holding, that's for sure.

Till later,

E
