DS O/T don't know Red Corner - but so far as being equal before the law from your list I'd take at random: Canada,UK, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, and add: all of the other Scandinavian countries, Australia, N.Zealand, and some other European countries.. I'm no expert in comparative jurisprudence - but I'd say you have as good a shot at a fair trial in any of those countries. And in the States in some areas of the law your chances are not so good if you belong to a minority and are poor - the mandatory minimum sentencing for drug convictions can be an absolutely horrifying situation - because people (usually small fry) can be convicted on the evidence of snitches, to 30 years without any chance of parole. The snitches are often the larger fry who get their sentences reduced or even quashed if they will 'name names' The result is that the jails are brim full of minor offenders (or completely innocent people convicted of 'conspracy to possess drugs') and the big fish are getting off. I wouldn't call this a superior case of 'equal rights under the law'

One might wish for a laisse faire world - but it ain't going to happen - there are more tenants than landlords - at least I think there are - they all have one vote, when they use it. dd
