Les can you help me out in trying to understand the budget. Clinton says he wants to allocate $$ to social security and pay down debt - what does he mean? That we will all pay fica taxes and the excess money will be used to pay down debt and then when it comes time for the payout in 2020 the country runs a deficit again? Why is that so terrible - paying down the debt, however you do it seems like a good thing (vs another tax cut). I may not understand the issues here, I realize - of course who does?
