Well, blame stupid retailers, IMO. When you go to CompUSA, there sit the iMacs. Are they hooked up to an ISP by modem? No. What do they think the "i" stands for? Do the Apple sales staff bring a comparably priced HP or Compaq right next to the iMac, and compare Office vs. Office or Photoshop vs. Photoshop, or MSIE vs. MSIE? Not MHz vs. MHz, but price point to price point. How about Blue G3 vs. whatever you got for Photoshop? It is their own damn fault, and AAPL suffers from their lack of desire to really, really sell those cute 'lil suckers. Not to mention providing a real customer service.
