The same can be said of the Earned Income Tax Credit which Nixon initiated and Clinton expanded. Its original intended goal was that everyone would be guaranteed the national median income. I guess they never studied basic statistics or math. Clinton is now pushing for Equal Pay which is a NOW issue. All of these programs and the Republican tax credit program you cite are attempts to buy votes using superficial analysis of the economy. Again, a one size fits all goal serves to distort markets and causes unintended consequences such as underemployment.

Some of the measures proposed I disagree with, such as a family wage. But I said:"Should limit the use of", not "should never in any circumstances use"... I am not a libertarian, the debate is generally over whether or not exceptional measures are warranted.
