Maurice,

I know the web is more efficient and all, but then you would miss some interesting discussions, including a conversation with George Bush on Wednesday.

You think the participants reserved rooms and bought tickets well in advance to get the good deals?

If we wanted to go, it would have to be the 'low budget' route. Cash in Frequent Flyer miles, rent a room near the airport, and commute to downtown New Orleans in a rental car at the preferred rate. Or if those $500 Suites had three bedrooms, then that cost could be spread across a group. Don't forget the MicroTels. Under $100 per night. Sure, the walls are thin, but they come with hot water and your own private rest room. Probably no such thing in New Orleans, or for that matter, in San Diego? (How about NZ - are there any 'inexpensive' places?)
