HenryD,

Cohu has smaller investment banking firms covering it and generally they are slow in updating earnings estimates although the coverage for Cohu has improved over the last year. There is a Technology Conference going on now sponsored by Montgomery Securities and the following statements made today are interesting:

The 12-month target for TER at $80 looks quite nice since COHU up until a few months ago tracked TER quite well. Given the just released quarterly numbers for COHU they should catch up with TER over the next couple of quarters so a $80 target for TER sounds pretty good for COHU.

When we get some increases in the earnings estimates for COHU we should see their stock price take off. Frankly, about 6 - 9 months ago I would have said that COHU should trade at a 30-50% premium to TER based on earnings and sales ratios. COHU earnings and sales dipped more strongly than TER but I think that the potential for a strong bounceback exists. COHU probably sees a bigger jump in revenue than TER when capacity expansion begins since they dominate their sector more than TER.

Lets hope that COHU catches up with TER. Good luck.
