Micron Technology Earnings Report Changes in 10-Q, NYT Says

Boise, Idaho, Jan. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Micron Technology Inc. changed the figure for the sale of semiconductor chips to $409.5 million in the company's electronic quarterly report to federal regulators from $428.1 million in its press release, the New York Times said in its ''Market Watch'' column. The 10-Q, which is a company's electronic quarterly report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, also indicated a 10 percent decline in megabits shipped by the company, a fact that was omitted from the press release. Julie Nash, a spokeswoman for Micron, said the discrepancy in semiconductor sales was based on a reclassification of semiconductor revenue into service fees, the newspaper said.

Micron reported on Dec. 23 a loss of 19 cents a share in the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 3, narrower than the 28-cents-a- share loss analysts had forecast.
