I don't profess to know the "truth", brees. I don't hold with the black-and-white, true-false, moral absolute view of the world in the first place. Roshomon, remember? The fact that people's stories vary from person to person and time to time doesn't necessarily mean that they're lying, even. Memory is not like videotape, and solipsism is not a uniquely Clintonian vice in my understanding. And as near as I can tell everybody in this long-running morality play has lied at one time or another.

Starr's doing his job as he sees fit, I just refuse to give him any more credit for purity of motive than anybody else. Of course, you guys are all bent on proving the larger truth that Clinton is the antichrist. If you think that bestows purity of motive on you, that's your business.

And of course I know that it's not going to end with the Senate. Starr can push it all till he's dead, for all I care. The IC law is dead for sure at this point. Unless Starr gets a Supreme Court ruling saying that any tinpot prosecutor can indict the President, this will all be a singular operation, which is good. Well, except for the civil suit precedent, which is disturbing enough by itself. Shoot, you don't have to be even a tinhorn prosecutor, just some hotshot lawyer with a bunch of money and a grudge.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, VENGEANCE is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
(hebrews 10 : 18-21)

I don't know if the reformed Rev. Pilch would care to counter this or not, that's his business. Not being in the inerrant Bible crowd, I won't interpret it either. I leave it to the good Christians here to make of it what they will.
