RESEARCH ALERT - Rogers Communication

NEW YORK, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs & Co. said it upgraded shares of Rogers Communications Inc. (NYSE:RG - news) (Toronto:RCIa.TO - news) and Videotron Group (Toronto:VDO.TO - news), two leading Canadian cable television companies, to its recommended list from a market outperform.

-- Further details were not immediately available.

-- Shares of Rogers Communications, which trade on the New York Stock Exchange in addition to the Toronto Stock Exchange, were up US$0.75 at $14.875.

-- Shares of Videotron trading in Toronto were last trading at C$23.75, up C$0.75.
