OK, delSecur has it and Identix and others have it. I originally mentioned it because I had not discussed this with the company before. The thread is aware of Identix and others. With this "IBM makes PCs so it is stupid to invest in Compaq" logic that many thought when Compaq first came public, investing in any company that has competition is a dumb idea.

David, buy delSecur now. There are things in the works that will propel the stock up - but these can't be reported because of NDAs and agreements with OEMs. Get of your pessimism and take a gamble on this one - it will pay off handsomely within a few months - trust me ; ^).!

Here is possibly the "category killer" from a spin off of Lucent Technology: veridicom.com veridicom.com

They have a new single-chip finger print ID system that includes false finger detection and on-chip encryption to prevent tampering at the circuitry level. Combined with software, the system provides biometric encryption of computer transactions - something that is touted for the delSecur technique but never commercialized.

I was a proponent of delSecur because they were said to have some production agreements in the works. Those have met with repeated delays and the official report from CRIM has never come out. The hopes of this company ride on somehow getting the commitments to scale the product to high volume testing and production. I think that is very wishful thinking. The competition is extremely well funded and talented and has now dealt a blow that delSecur is unlikely to recover from, IMO. This comes down to naive thinking about the success of unproven technology over business dynamics. delSecur may or may not have viable technology - so far that is yet to be commercially proven one way or the other. If they do have excellent technology, the chances of finding a receptive market has grown increasingly unlikely.

Why spend money developing a new way of doing things when a chip can be purchased off the shelf or with some modifications to meet market needs?

My prediction at this point is that delSecur stock will be worth nothing within 24 months.
