I rang them last week on behalf of a friend (computer newbie) who had narrowed his choice down to Dell, Gateway and 1 built by a local supplier.

I talked to them and asked how support worked. No problem they said, its all done over the phone. Yes, but what if its hardware I said. No problem they said, we can usually fix over the phone? Huh? I said. What if something actually broke, like a hard disc?
Easy they said, we send you a disc in the post and talk you through installing it.

Really good approach for a newbie to computers! Not. Strike Gateway off the shortlist.
